Promised Place, Precious People

Promised Place—Precious People is a large format (12” X 10 3/4”), 208-page, full-color book, which takes the reader on a photographic and intellectual journey through the Book of Mormon lands of Mesoamerica, co-written by Doctor Joseph Allen and Sheryl Lee Wilson. Dr. Allen earned his Ph.D. in Ancient and Modern Scripture with an emphasis on Mesoamerica and the Book of Mormon. He has been a pioneer of educational tours throughout Mesoamerica. His research on the ancient civilizations of Mesoamerica and his extensive and repeated travels throughout the regions of the Olmec, Maya, Zapotec, and Aztec cultures spans over 60 years. Sheryl Lee has traveled to Mesoamerica over 20 times, exploring and photographing archaeological sites. Her photographs have appeared in several publications. There are five sections in the book, each accompanied by exquisite photographs and articles about the five areas: Land of the Jaredites, Land of Nephi, Land of Zarahemla, Land Bountiful, and Land Northward. There are also 33 full-color maps.  Promised Place—Precious People is an excellent addition to any library and a magnificent display book that explicates the geographic settings of The Book of Mormon.
