Mine Angels Round About You: Miraculous Accounts of the Lord’s Hand in the Mission Field

This unique collection of experiences was compiled by David Frederick Babbel, a professor emeritus whose academic career spanned 25 years at the University of California at Berkeley and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  At age 52, Babbel was called away from academia to preside with his wife, Mary Jane, over the Brasília Brazil Mission from 2002-2005. Realizing that there was a treasure trove of amazing experiences reported in the weekly letters to him from the missionaries, Babbel began to keep a careful record of their accounts.  Years later, with permission and verification from each of the missionaries involved, Dr. Babbel has woven their accounts together in a thematic narrative together with its contextual background.  The result is a record of some of the tenderest, most astonishing, faith-promoting true experiences that you will ever read. Although Dr. Babbel has published over 130 scholarly articles and books related to economics and finance, none compares with this, his first non-academic book.
