Pregunta: ¿Por qué se menciona el nombre de Cristo en el Libro de Mormón antes del nacimiento de Cristo cuando no se menciona en la Biblia hasta el Nuevo Testamento?
The name Jesus Christ appears in the Book of Mormon because the book is an English translation
In the Holy Bible, the name "Jesus Christ" is not mentioned anywhere before Christ's birth. The Book of Mormon, on the other hand, mentions Jesus Christ's name numerous times before his birth. Why is the name of Christ mentioned in the Book of Mormon before Christ's birth when it isn't in the Bible?
The name Jesus Christ appears in the Book of Mormon because the book is an English translation. Whatever names the Nephites may have used for him, the best translation - the one that best conveyed who they were really talking about - was Jesus Christ, so that is the way it was translated by Joseph Smith.
Mormon summarized the Nephite history hundreds of years after Christ's visit, so he knew the name of the Savior
It should be noted that by the time Mormon wrote his synopsis of Nephite history, he knew quite well how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies that had been made about him before his birth. He could have done a lot to straighten out differences in terminology that might otherwise have been confusing to us.
