Ossos de gado domesticado (Bos taurus - veja a Figura 2) foram relatados a partir de diferentes cavernas na Península de Yucatán, no México.[2] Em um exemplo estes ossos foram encontrados com os de um cavalo extinto, Equus conversidens. É especialmente interessante que junto com estes vaca e cavalo permanece, artefatos humanos foram encontrados em associação com eles! A indicação é que gado domesticado o cavalo e coexistiu com os humanos em tempo pré-colombiana. [3]
