Trinta e cinco palavras no final de Alma 32:30 foram omitidas
Pergunta: Por que 35 palavras, no final de Alma 32:30 no manuscrito original omitido de primeiras edições do Livro de Mórmon?
A mudança não é uma modificação da tradução de Joseph, mas restaura o texto omitido que Joseph traduziu
Trinta e cinco palavras no final de Alma 32:30 do manuscrito original foram omitidas em edições anteriores do Livro de Mórmon. O texto foi restaurado na edição de 1981 do Livro de Mórmon. A mudança não é uma modificação da tradução de Joseph, mas restaura o texto omitido que Joseph traduziu.
Este tipo de erro é comum no mercado editorial, e alguns tradutores e escribas da Bíblia cometeram erros semelhantes.
Neste caso, parece que o tipógrafo erroneamente omitiu estas palavras. Tal erro é compreensível, dado que o manuscrito que Joseph Smith forneceu para o impressor não tinha marcas de parágrafo ou pontuação.
Dois autores SUD escreveram:
"Este é um exemplo de um erro sem consequências prejudiciais aparentes. E embora tenha havido uma série de mudanças de redação do Livro de Mórmon ao longo dos anos, mesmo aqueles que criticam a sua autenticidade reconhecem que as alterações não são de grande importância doutrinária. No entanto, muitos dos erros na tradução, transmissão e edição do Novo Testamento são significativamente de maiores consequências. " [1]
