Hauck proposed refinements to Sorenson's model,[1] but one reviewer considered his alterations too radical to be mere refinements, and on the ten essential points discussed here found it vastly inferior to Sorenson's model.[2]
Real world suggested correlates in this model:
- Narrow neck of land - no isthmus connection, but considers it a "narrow corridor"
- River Sidon - Usamacinta River
- Hill Ramah/Cumorah - [needs work]
A major criticism of Hauck's model involves the requirement of two areas named Bountiful in the new world.[3] Given the problems outlined in reviews, this model has not gained much traction among LDS scholars, though it served as a spur for further work.
