Some have wondered if the mall will be required to adhere to LDS standards (e.g., no sale of alcohol, no Sunday openings).  The City Creek development (which includes other establishments and housing in addition to the mall) is a joint venture between a real estate developer owned by the LDS church and another developer that is not affiliated with the church.
